This workshop is designed for career employees at the A2 Advanced Beginner Level and above.)
Career employees: Objective I – Would you like to learn “Independent Language Learning (ILL)” strategies to help you advance your language learning for your career?
Objective II: Would you like to learn how to use the European Language Portfolio (ELP), the primary language learning tool used in Europe?
The Workshop Plan
AOK will provide an introduction on how to use the ELP by helping you to do the following:
P-1 Determine your language learning objectives using the CEFR self-assessment survey and the Dialang, a free Internet test. The CEFR provides a popular set of language standards that can be used for self-evaluation.
P-2 Learn how to use the European Language Portfolio (ELP) to:
P-2a Complete your Europass Language Passport and use it for professional purposes.
P-2b Take control of your learning in the Biography Section through reflective and cognitive learning strategies.
P-2c Display your English skills through Dossier Section and use it for professional advancement purposes.
P-3 Choose effective English learning applications for your smart phone.
P-4 Participate in learning communities to improve your conversation, often at no cost.
P-5 Learn about free ESOL learning websites for the upper levels: AOK will freely distribute an annotated file with a list of over 200 free, annotated websites for studying English.
This workshop is being offered to help increase interest in the construction of an “Independent Language Learning (ILL)” English website for all by the U.N. in support of its 2030 World Goal No. 4: Quality Education. The presentation is also supported by a number of handouts.
Because the materials in this workshop are available only for non-commercial and educational purposes, there is no cost to attend. AOK is registered with SRI to provide “Complimentary Professional Services” and Talento Humano de Ecuador.
