Re: “How to use the Internet to improve the education of your elementary school child at no cost “
Dear Director of the Institution:
[Insert your message here: who you are, why you are writing, and how you are connected to this program.]
Workshop summary
“How to use the Internet to improve the education of your elementary school child at no cost ” is one of six AOK workshops that are for native language pre-K – grade 12 and adult education students. It gives an overview of some websites that contain Spanish materials that can improve an elementary student’s educational skills at the primary level. These materials provide support for most of the basic elementary school subject areas, as well as an introduction of study skills and computer use.
Workshop materials
The workshop includes a written PowerPoint presentation (visuals can be added for the local area), director and student evaluation forms, key handouts, and a list of free, annotated websites from which to study. The workshop is given in support of UN Global Goal/SDG 4: Quality Education and UNICEF objectives. It includes information on how nonprofit organizations can use SDG student badges and videos to motivate the students’ learning and promote inclusion. It can last for one or more 50-minute sessions and can serve for follow-up, as well. The materials can be downloaded in Spanish on this website.
Workshop Objectives
The participants will learn about how:
- There are many websites that can help a child to catch up with his class or expand his learning in the basic subject areas.
- Reading and answering questions about stories and nonfiction material is a good way to practice reading at home. They will receive a list of general reading questions applicable for all materials.
- To improve their child’s mathematics abilities using some good websites.
- To carry out interesting writing activities for their child using several Internet sites.
- To use the AOK file of more than 80 primary school websites. They will also become familiar with several sites that teach how to navigate with Google to find more interesting sites.
A long-term goal of the workshop
A long-term goal of the workshop is to encourage UNICEF to provide multi-lingual materials that provide instruction on the Internet in literacy, basic digital education and study skills. It would be motivational for participants to learn some basic skills from UNICEF, and they would be written in a professional manner. A formed letter to this effect is included with the workshop materials on this website. It can be rewritten if desired.
I was registered with the National Human Talent Directorate in Ecuador and presented the workshops listed on my website to about 1,000 participants before the Pandemic. AOK workshops are designed to act as a base for local organizations to individualize and update according to their needs...
Sincerely,
…

Optional and Anonymous Workshop Evaluation by Volunteer Parents & Guardians
This workshop was free and voluntary to attend. This evaluation is primarily used to determine whether you believe it is not a problem to find free, high-quality websites to improve your child’s education, or if you think a dedicated elementary school learning website with a table of contents and index for the plethora of available sites could help you more. If the evaluations favor a special website, I will submit them to the UN under the UNSD request for quality education.
Please return this form to the presenter at the end of the workshop.

Informal Workshop Summary for the Coordinator
The purpose of this workshop is to familiarize participants with using the internet to learn about materials and techniques for teaching their primary school-aged children how to improve their studies at no cost using the internet.
However, the internet is sometimes difficult to use because of the vast number of learning sites available for this purpose. Which sites are the best for a child? There is no current index or table of contents. If the optional and anonymous evaluations from the workshop participants agree with this analysis, I will use them to try to encourage the United Nations to provide a dedicated website for this purpose. This would help promote their UNSD goal of Quality Education.
Mr./Ms. Coordinator, your opinion is essential for ___ to ensure we cover the educational needs of your employees. We would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to share your opinion with us.
